Science, Invention, Engineering

I was thinking a little while ago about how the creative process of invention is related to science and engineering. It occurred to me that one of the most useful aspects of science for the inventor is that you can use good science to make predictions about how things will behave. Engineering is how the inventor can turn an idea into a practical object. The invention process feeds back to science by providing observations and imaginative frameworks. Invention feeds back to engineering by providing synthesis of techniques and applications.
